Fine art printmaking & digital capture
Coat of Colors caters especially to artists—producing giclée prints that capture the true colors of your artwork. The digital process that creates a giclée starts with a high-resolution digital capture (scanning your artwork digitally by using a special back on the camera as the art is photographed) and ends with precise color rendition using archival papers or canvas and inks.
Fine art printmaking in Central Oregon
Located in Bend, Oregon Pat & Debbie Sagers work together to bring each artist the best color match possible for their fine art giclée prints at reasonable prices. Fine art printmaking requires a highly technical process that is static and repeatable to produce stunning giclées. The final touch to finishing the print is being able to match the colors precisely and having a good eye for color is a must.
Nine years ago Pat Sagers, a computer systems specialist in Bend, began exploring the digital giclée printing process. He has been able to combine his keen eye for color with the technical expertise required to achieve top-quality reproduction standards. Using a BetterLight scanning back that fits right on his camera he is also able to produce a high-resolution scan directly from the artwork. Skipping the “film” step allows for an even crisper, truer image of each piece of art he shoots. Art may be captured whether behind glass or not.
